JMCD Developments were proud to be selected to undertake the refurbishment and installation of the new Trading Rooms restaurant at the Piece Hall in Halifax. The Piece Hall is a grade 1 listed building and preserving the historic elements of the building was paramount. Our team of tradesman have a great deal of experience in the restoration of historic buildings enabling us to deliver such stunning results. Upon the opening of the Trading Rooms, our management team were invited down to meet the mayor and mayoress of Halifax who congratulated us on our workmanship. JMCD Developments won this contract to refurbish and reconfigure the bedrooms and communal areas, situated near a university campus in West Yorkshire. We started with the conversion of some existing cluster flats to studios and two-dios. With the majority of accessible studios converted to premium studios. All other studios, bedrooms and kitchens were redecorated and refurbished with new furniture and fittings. The key challenge faced by our site team was meeting the strict completion deadline. With Students, due to take up residence prior to the academic year, the construction was highly time sensitive, with any delays having the potential to cause enormous disruptions. Our team worked tirelessly to ensure successful handover.

NHS community center
Over the years JMCD Developments has delivered numerous schemes for the NHS Trust, from office fit outs to refurbishing their treatment centres and hospitals. This particular NHS facility offers mental health and community care services in the Yorkshire area. We carried a complete refurbishment of the building which included clinical rooms, washrooms and WC areas. We also upgraded the lighting, emergency alert alarm, data points and small power. As the project was being undertaken in a live hospital environment we had to ensure segregation of our works from occupied areas and continuity of services. Close liaison between our team and the hospital’s estates department ensured the works were completed on time and without interfering with the functionality of the hospital and its patients.
sENIOR SCHOOL CLASSROOM REFURBISHMENT
JMCD Developments work alongside many educational organisations, academy's and universities. We were asked to expand the school, involving the construction of a new two-storey classroom wing, and remodelling of part of the main school including the school hall. The works were carried out whilst the school remained occupied. Part of the works involved refurbishment to the existing building. The first week of work to this phase involved structural enabling works that were extremely noisy and dusty. These works were therefore programmed to coincide with a half-term holiday. This not only reduced the disruption to the school but also provided the half-term period for preparation of the decent areas.
